We’re asking CMS members and runners throughout the local community to complete a short survey about the group runs you would like to see on our calendar. We want to hear which days, times, locations, distances, and types of runs would make it easier for you to participate. You do not need to be a CMS member to respond!

We are also looking for more people who would be willing to lead group runs regularly. We would love to offer more options, but doing that will require more runners to help organize and lead them. Leading a run does not always mean being the fastest person or providing formal coaching. It means choosing a route, welcoming the group, helping runners know what to expect, and being a consistent point of contact. If you might be willing to help (even once or twice a month for a few months) please let us know in the survey.

Your feedback will help us build a running calendar that better reflects what local runners actually want and what our volunteers can realistically support. 💙

We need you!

It's one of the busiest seasons for our CMS volunteers, and we need your help making these awesome events happen all across Worcester! CMS is entirely volunteer-driven, and no experience is needed -- show up, and we can show you the ropes!

We need help at the following races over the next month and change: the Newton Hill Series (every Tuesday in August), the Edward Kennedy CHC 5K (8/8), and Canal Diggers (9/12).

Thank you in advance for being the best crew of generous and supportive runners in all of Central Mass!! It's a fun month as we ramp up to fall race season, let's go! 💙

It's already August, and it is starting to smell l

It's already August, and it is starting to smell like XC Season in Worcester. Our CMS Summer Series continues all month long!

Join us every Tuesday in August for some of the best racing in the city all year, when we run the trails at the Newton Hill XC Series.

The race starts at 6:30pm. Registration opens at 6:00pm near the tennis courts. Just $7 for CMS members, $12 for non-members, and all proceeds go to the Friends of Newton Hill to support the park and its programming.

Our summer long runs continue this weekend! Join us Sunday for our weekly Group Run.

Meet us at the "porta-potty lot" on Route 122 at 7am Sunday for a long run (mileage is up to you) on the Rutland Rail Trail.

All paces and distances are welcome! The trail is a total of 8.5 miles (17 out and back) of smooth, stroller-friendly trail with limited road crossings.

Hi CMS, it's officially July, which means the Lake Park 5K Series kicks off in just a week!

We hold a 5K every Tuesday in July at 6:30PM at Lake Park in Worcester.

It is FREE for CMS Members, and just $5 for non-members. No need to pre-register to run, just show up!

Online voting is open for the CMS Executive Board Election 2026. If you are a current, paid member of CMS, you are eligible to vote in the election. You may also choose to vote in person at the Summer Banquet tomorrow, but you may only vote once (so online or in person, but not both).
