Fred's Marathon/Half-Marathon

Both courses are identical through 13.1 miles. This allows those entered in the marathon to stop at 13.1 miles, if they so choose, and complete the half-marathon. Timing and Scoring by Central Mass Striders.

· The races start in the Worcester State College parking lot behind the Eugene A. Sullivan Academic Center. The first mile consists of a clockwise loop and a half around the WSC campus. Mile one is located on Chandler Street in front of the WSC gym building and at the starting line of the CMS 52-Week 5K Series races.

· From the one-mile mark, the marathon then consists of eight identical 3.15-mile loops

· The finish is in the WSC parking lot.

· The half-marathon finishes on Chandler Street about 0.3-mile from WSC.

· Both courses are run 100% on asphalt. Fred's Marathon is certified. Therefore, Fred's 2002 is a qualifier for Boston 2003.

Directions:: to Worcester State College on 486 Chandler St., Worcester, MA. Rt. 290 to exit 13 to Chandler St.

T-Shirts: Fred's 2002 T-shirts to all pre-entrants. Post entries are not guaranteed T-shirts.

Amenities: Sixteen water/eight replacement stations for the marathon,; eight water/four replacement stations for the half-marathon . . .; parking at the start/finish for 1000 cars . . .; large heated building (the WSC gym) with restrooms and showers . . .; certified courses . . .; post-race food to include soup, bread, pastry, fruit, coffee and soda.

Registration: Registration, Numbers and T-shirt pickup is on race day from 7:30AM to 8:50AM at the WSC gym.

Awards: Fred's egalitarian awards: Fred's 2002 medals to all finishers.

In consideration of my entry being accepted to either Fred's Marathon or Fred's Half Marathon, and the grant of permission for participation in either one of these races, I for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, do hereby and with full knowledge of the consequences for this act, waive and release any and all rights and claims for personal injury or other loss or damage which may arise from said entry and/or participation in either one of these races, against any and all sponsors, backers, supporters and contributors to the races, including but not limited to the Central Mass Sriders, Worcester State College, the race directors, organizers, administrators, officials and volunteers, and the business sponsors and promoters of the races. RRCA and all of its officers and/or representatives shall be free from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of these events. Marathon entrants must be at least 18 years of age.
