The Central Mass Striders topped the field in the USATF New England XC Championships, by placing five runners among the first ten scorers. The CMS team scorers were Sandu Rebenciuc, Eric Morse, Mike Nahom, Adam Stuhlfaut, and Tim McCormick. Darin Shearer and Mark Junkerman displaced as sixth and seventh finishers. Darin is CMS first sub 4:00 miler. This means that everyone who finished in front of Darin should be able to run sub 4:00, eh?Did you know that Darin and Jason Culinane are former Massachusetts State High School XC champs? You can look it up.
Top finisher Ben Noad is also the Providence College burner. Someone pointed out that the entire scoring team for CMS came home before the first man for the green slime of Greater Lowell RC. However, I would never repeat such a nasty thing. Nope, not me.
