Oakham - June 22nd
A very disappointing field of 42 ran this year's Yankee Fair 5K. Steve Bayley (Sterling) not only was the first junior, but also topped the entire field. Steve is one of several CMS juniors who are students at Wachusett Regional High School. Jim Gonyea ( Auburn) and Eddie Gallivan (Worcester), complete with his right arm in a cast, were first respectively in the master and senior divisions. CMS president Eric Thibaud (Worcester), competing just nine days after being elected, finished 4th. Eric will be trying to disprove the theory that those who assume the presidency of CMS are doomed to road racing PW's (personal worsts).
