Whitinsville - Nov. 27th

Wham! While the temperatures were higher than normal - lower 30's - for this year's version of the Thanksgiving Day Whitin Five, the winds were brutal. At one point, after about half the field had finished, a particularly strong gust of wind blew over th e CMS finish line clock and the tripod upon which it was mounted and the entire finish line chute. Fortunately, the clock suffered no permanent damage and the timing of the race continued on without a problem. Top CMS finisher was Rich Ovian (Worcester) who was seventh overall and the second master. Joanne Lachapelle (Worcester) and Dolores Drewniak (Princeton) were first respectively in the female master and senior divisions.
