| If it's Thanksgiving, there's a good bet that you can find a race within a
Turkey Shoot distance
of your neighborhood. Glancing down the results of the Whitin 5 race, we see
that people
traveled a little out of their neighborhoods. They must have heard what a
great race that Linda
Usher directs! On this Thanksgiving, we had much to be thankful for too! We
had 537 Registered
runners and 35 some odd walkers. While only 488 showed up on race day and
finished, that is still
one more than the previous high back in 2003. With the forecast for a Nor'easter coming through the
area, we were also thankful that the rain held off through the race and produced
some fast times.
And lest we forget, we are ALWAYS thankful for the many volunteers that make
this race a success each
year.
As for the race itself, CMS placed 6 runners in the coveted top 50 spots. The
first 50 runners get a
Signature Whitin 5 Mug! The Senator Moore and Cyclonauts teams had strong showings
too but just don't have
the numbers!
