| It was only a matter of time. Father and son running races together since his boy was 8 years old. For the last two years the son no longer wants Dad to run with him. He wants to beat his Dad when both are running all out and at their best. Not only did this day finally come but was done in a very impressive manner. It was a chilly but sunny day on the Cape for the 7.1 mile Falmouth in the Fall Road Race run on the same course as the more famous and popular summer time event. In a field of 432 runners Bryan Quitadamo (now at the ripe old age of 13) came in 8th place overall with a time of 44:18. Bryan's time was 7:32 faster than he ran on the same course in August. More importantly, for the first time he beat his very, very, very proud Dad, Steve Quitadamo who finished 12th overall in 46:05 (a PR of almost a minute for Steve on this course) What's next? CMS weekly 5k's? or is it time for younger brother Kyle to get into the competition? Story to be continued... |
