| Thanks to the Hockomock Swamp Rat Series, earlier start in the day, and a one
week later date, we almost
doubled the amount of runners in this 13th Running Of The Deer. Pomplona has
nothing on us! We have to
give thanks where thanks are due too for the tireless efforts of Professor Hunt and The Stu Thurston for
Directing this race. Also, take a look at the volunteer list at the bottom of
the results. These people
helped direct the runners, aided in registration, timing, and posting of
results!
On to the race itself. Dmitry Drozdov led all runners around the double loop
course and finished in a blazing
25:41. This knocked 4 seconds off of CMS's Richard Bolt's time from last year.
This may be a course record but
but we'll let Rich dig through the annals for verification. Greg Ward was first
CMS finisher and only 10 seconds
back on Dmitry. Kris Gleason came down from Leo Minster to take top female
honors. Eric Thibaud, Tom Fitzgerald,
and Rich Lemerise were 1st, 2nd, 3rd in the Past CMS President Category. I must also note that Peter Orni gets
extra Rat points in my book for running today's race with a busted rib. The
story I heard is he either fell on a
tree or a tree fell on him, but since no one else was around and the trees
weren't talking, we'll never know! |
