This past Saturday morning in Whitinsville was sunny and beautiful... no thundershowers, humidity or bugs. (Hopefully a good omen for the upcoming Fall season!)

88 runners completed in this year's edition of the Ron Safer Scholarship 4-Mile Road Race. The defending champion, Whitinsville's own Jeff Engbers, won the race handily in a time of 20:17. The first female finisher was Sarah MacKay (23:55), also from Whitinsville.

Several CMS runners had strong age-group performances. Pat McCormick (24:22) and Jerry Grove (26:27) were the #2 runners in the masters and seniors divisions. Art French (28:48) won the veterans prize, and Linda Usher (30:07) was the top female senior.
