Nice way to warm up for the Turkey day festivities.  In a battle of the CMS North titans, Richard Bolt trailed in the early going, then blitzed the last 2 miles to pull away from the ever tough Rod Viens.   

After the race, Richard told our CMSTV reporter Mark Makeitup: "Rod is always tough.  He has a ferocious finishing sprint, so I had to go early to have a chance.  Today it worked.  Who knows what will happen the next time.  What was really great was taking down that record held by Kevin Beck.  That record stood since the last century (actually 1999) and it was time someone stepped up and got it." 

Rod was also complimentary, telling our lame reporter: "Richard is really in great shape after running those mountain races.  He was just too strong today.  Maybe next time it will be different. Plus, he got that record.  We all wonder if Kevin will come back next year to take it back." 

Jeremy Huckins just missed the top 10, coming home 11th overall.  Jeremy was surrounded by autograph seekers, since he bears a striking resemblance to a famous Australian movie actor, and could not be reached for comment.  344 runners toured Concord. 

Nothing like a little literary license, eh?
