A nice morning for a run. Cool temps, overcast skies, just a hint of rain. Some 100 participants came to Whitinsville for the Ron Safer Scholarship 4-Miler.

The winner of the race was Whitinsville's own Jeff Engbers, in a course record time of 20:05. Tim Avery finished just a few seconds behind him -- and a good two minutes ahead of the rest of the pack.

The women's winner was Kelley Henry (24:45), also from Whitinsville. Susan Kenney ran a strong second place and won the women's masters prize.
