Newton Hill X-Country Series Race #4
Newton Square Rotary Park
Worcester, MA

Last week's record turnout was topped in this, the final race in the series.
Shrewsbury runners led the way. Could it be that runners were
already turning their backs on the strike-imminent baseball players?
Probably not, because most Central Mass runners are closet Yankee fans, and
would never leave the game. (Ooooohhhh, am I gonna' get
it now)
Young Paul Young led the way to an easy win. Even younger Matt
Kane placed second. Pat McCormick topped the Masters. Nick
Kanaracus topped the 50+ group. It will be interesting to see if
Young, Kane and Reed continue to run 20-plus years from now, and run as well as
Pat and Nick.
