CMS seems to be attracting very fast and very young runners. In this case, Brendan Whitson, all of ten years old, placed 5th overall in a very nifty 20:12 5K. Brendan was also the only CMS runner in this contest. Mom Jennifer reports: "He is training for the Junior Olympic XC. Last year he finished 49th at the nationals. He's hoping to place in the top twenty this year." Of course, as all successful runners know, you have to do your homework first! In the Half Marathon, Michael Silvia led CMS finishers, with a nice 1:33. Dan Gullage and Louis Melendez also ran well. |
