Ok.  Help me with this one.  Senior women, aged 20s to 30s.  Hmm?  Anyway, Mimi Corcoran (Worcester) led the CMS contingent, placing 24th overall.  Susannah Landredth (Newburyport) came home 82nd.  Barbara McManus (Worcester) was 108th.    Senior or not, these were FAST people, over the precisely measured 6,017 meters...something we all practice for on a regular basis.  (Hey coach...how many 601.7 meter intervals do we do today?)

Senior Men's 10K Individuals

Eric Morse (Berlin, VT) led CMS in the Senior men's 10K (senior?  at 35?  What does that make me?  Ancient?  Fossilized?  Yeah, probably).  Scott Clark (Gilmanton, NH) came home 122nd.  Once again, fast people steamed around Franklin Park.    Vermont?  New Hampshire?  Yes, it is true, while attention was focused on Florida and the Presidential election, Massachusetts annexed both Vermont and New Hampshire and assigned them to Central Massachusetts.  'Way to go, Guvner!

Masters Women 10K Individuals
The CMS Masters Women team placed second overall, a scant 2 minutes behind winner Run to Win.  Maureen Burns (Hampden) led the CMS contingent, placing 5th overall.  Cynthia Gaudere (Hudson, the original home of Data General, now just a part of business history...sigh) came home 9th.  Ellen MacGilvray (also Hudson) was 14th.     NONE of these women actually look like they are in their 40s.  Maybe late 20s, but certainly no more.  In fact, they are carded every time they go into a Disco.  Disco?  Ask your grandfather. Where's John Travolta when you need him?

Masters Men 10K Individuals
MASTERS MEN 9855 meters
The CMS Men's Masters team placed seventh overall, with a total time of 2:53:06, a bit less thant10 minutes behind the winning Reebok Aggies. Geary Daniels (Dudley) led the CMS team, with an 11th place finish.  Iron Man Jim Garcia (Westford) was 15th.  Jerry Learned (Hopkinton), doing double duty as a senior-master, was 44th.  Coach Bill Gaudere (Hudson) came home 47th.  Rich Ovian (Worcester) was 54th.  Bob Hodge (Clinton) was 55th as the first displacer.  Walter Berkowicz was right behind in 56th as the second displacer.    Master?  Senior?  Age is relative, isn't it?

 MEN 9855 meters (yes, 50+)

The CMS 50+ team took first place.  Jerry Learned (Hopkinton) led the way in 44th.  Frank Rucki (Chicopee)  was 2nd man, finishing 63rd overall.  John Boyle (Newburyport) came home 75th.  Alan Rondo, claiming he is 50, although his wife swears he is 23, was 76th.  Mark Hines was 5th man, capping the victory with his 80th place finish. Peter Orni (Fitchburg) 111th and Ray Boutotte (Pepperell) 125th, were the displacers.    Nothing like using the same term different ways, eh?  Just like Lotus Notes:  lets see, how can we confuse the heck out of everyone?  I know!  Lets call an apple a pear.  Heh heh.
