Photo: Island Photos		 New (old) CMS member Steve Allen, 47, from Charlton City ran his 1st marathon in nearly 12 years, qualifying for Boston 2001 with a 2:58:44 in Philadelphia on 11/19. Prepping with a 1:24 at the Hollis half in New Hampshire, the rumor is that he is at least closely related to the CMS veteran of many road racing battles in the 1980's.

Steve slipped under 3 hours for the marathon, placing 132nd overall at the 20th Philadelphia Marathon.  Steve was 31st in the masters age group, and the fastest of six people named Allen, and the 2nd Massachusetts marathoner.
