Once again, CMS members took advantage of the BU Winter T&F series
to get a workout indoors.
Alan Bernier (Durham NH) placed 1st in the fast heat of the 3000 meters run, with at time of 8:37.3 (a one second improvement over last week, for those who are tracking Alan's progress). Alan came back to place 5th in the mile in 4:26.3 (a 2 second improvement over last week...this is getting good!)
Kevin Beck (Concord) stuck with the mile this time around. His first was 4:36.1, the second was 4:57. Apparently Kevin was tied up signing autographs for his groupies.
Scott Clark (Gilmanton NH) tried the 3000, finishing in 8:50.9. He then came back with a 4:39.9 mile.
Jim Garcia (Westford), known for ultra distance races (100K and up) barely broke a sweat as he went through a 3,000 in 9:20.1, then came back with a 4:49.7 mile. Jim was stunned to reach the finish line so quickly, so he decided to run home through New Jersey.
Bob Hodge (Clinton) rolled through the mile in 4:58.9.
Said Ahmed, eastern Mass High Schooler, showed he is ready to defend his titles with a nice 4:20.1 mile, followed by a 1:59.2 800. Oh, to be young and fast!
