President’s Notes

I hope you are having a great summer. The weather has finally cooperated! We have had some beautiful summer days.

The newsletter is always looking for articles. If anyone has been on a running vacation, please send in an article telling us about the race and the area you traveled to. CMS runners have traveled together to go to a race in the past. If anyone is interested in going to a race far away and would like other runners to travel with, please post it on the CMS Bulletin Board. Maybe there would be a group of CMS runners interested.

The Annual Members Only Race was held on June 25th. The weather was great. The 5k had great attendance. Cactus Pete’s was there serving up a great chicken dinner. The Board of Directors election was held. The officers include: President- Lisa Mentzer. Vice President- John Walsh, Clerk- Kelley Handy. Treasurer- Karen Lemerise, Asst Treasurer- Roger Nasatka, Membership SecretaryLynrI Armstrong. and Members At Large: Kevin Fallon. Sarah Fullen, Bill Haskell, and Kim Wamback. Once again, we have a strong BOD with great skills. I want to thank all of these individuals for taking time from their busy lives to he involved with CMS.

This is a good place to remind everyone that this club exists due to volunteers. If anyone is able to volunteer their time for timing and scoring, data entry. writing articles, or doing whatever your strength is. please let me know. There have been some new folks who have come forward to help out which is great. Thank you!

The Grand Prix series has 3 races left. The races include: August 9th- The Bridge of Flowers 10k, October 5th- Rojack’s 5 miler. and October 26th- Cape Cod Marathon. I hope CMS runners make a presence at these races. I also hope that you wear your CMS singlet at any races you compete at.

Board of directors meetings will be held at the Greendale YMCA At 6:30 pm on the first Monday of each month. Exceptions: September meeting will be September 8. November Meeting will be Wednesday November 5.
