Weather Updates

December 1999
Hey...is the race still on????

In a move that leaves the club in a near-perfect position to be one of the first entities to fall victim to some sort of Y2K mayhem, the powers that be have announced that weather-related updates regarding the New Year's Day Sterling Freezer Five will be posted online at   http://www.cmsrun.org  , the club's award-garnering homepage maintained almost exclusively through the tireless efforts of Grafton's Barry Smith.

If inclement weather forces a delay in the start time, you can find out about it online instead of rousting Rich Lemerise from his much-needed slumber. No, you can rely on Barry to get up early early in the morning to post weather updates on the web.  Barry will do this by looking out the window and guessing what the weather gods will do.  Good Luck!

This tactic worked exceptionally well with Stu's 30K last year  and gives would-be racers the opportunity to find out what's happening at the starting line without having to stick their hung-over heads out the front door. Of course, this race will never be cancelled - just last year it was, to paraphrase a time-honored Yankee metaphorical ditty, colder than a strategic portion of a wiccan's anatomy. So we'll see you on the 1st. And check out the website on its own merits.

Is there a message here?  Wanna' run?  Not sure?  SHOW UP!  This is New England in the Winter...what did you expect?! You're on your own.  Get there!
