Dear CMS

Dear CMS:

I am turning to you (the experts) because I have been to many doctors and many physical therapists over the past six months and I think you probably can help me more than they have. Let me first tell you why I am asking you for help. Some years ago my knees were giving me such problems that I could hardly get in and out of a car. One day I met a fellow runner at a swimming pool. I began to tell him about my problem. He suggested a particular straight-last shoe. Literally the day after I first ran in them, my problem disappeared.

Now for the current situation. Since December I have had pain in my upper leg right under the buttocks. Sometimes after 3 miles, I feel pain in that hamstring, coming down from the hip. I have been through X-rays, iontophoresis, ultrasound, physical therapy, massage, pressure points, no running for six weeks, swimming, anti-inflammatory pills, chiropractic, new shoes, prayer - nothing has helped. (Refraining from running makes no difference.) Any suggestions? If so, please email me at nsdirector@juno.com.

Thanks!

Nancy Cox Lund
