2004 looks to be another great year for mountain running in the USA. Consider the following:
The 44th Mt. Washington Road Race (MWRR) will serve as the 2004 USATF Mountain Running

The MWRR is a limited entry event. The entry window is from March 1 to March 15, 2004. To

The 26th Vail Hill Climb will serve as the NACAC (North American, Central American &
Caribbean) Mountain Running Championships. For more information go to:
Both the MWRR and the Vail Hill Climb will be selection races for the 2004 Teva US Mountain
Running Team.
For those of you in New England the 9th Annual USATF-NE Mountain Running Series will take
place in May and June. The announced races are:
May 29 - Mt. Kearsarge (Warner, NH) 8.5 miles - road
June 5 - Northfield Mountain (Northfield, MA) 8.2 miles - trail
June 6 - Pack Monadnock (Wilton, NH) 10 miles - road
June 26 - Mt. Ascutney (Windsor, VT) 3.8 miles - road
After many successful years, the Wachusett Mountain race does not have a race director and
will not be held. Unless another race can be found to fill in, this years series will be scored by best 3 of 4 races. For more information on USATF New
