This past weekend featured one of the few mountain road races held in Maine. The
7.3 mile Mt. Agamenticus Challenge starts in York Beach, ME and climbs to the
700' summit of Mt. Agamenticus. Flat by most mountain running standards, this
race presents it's own challenges and assets. Climbing 300' in the first 6.5
miles, most of the course gradually rolls uphill - a nice road race, right? The
last 400 feet of climb comes in just over a half mile.
