U.S. 2004 USATF MUT Championships Selected In 2004 ultra, trail, and mountain runners have the broadest opportunity to run USATF national championship and selection races in the history of the Mountain/Ultra/Trail Running Council (MUT) championship program. To offer this expansive slate of races, the USATF Mountain/ Ultra/Trail Running Council selected 8 different venues for championships. In response to the request for bids for US national championships, MUT received 11 bids from race directors across the country. The following events were chosen as the US MUT Championships for 2004 for open and masters athletes. In selecting national MUT championships, the MUT Council balances the quality of the event with the championship race experience it provides. The MUT council also announced the following 2004 races as selection races for next year's World Cup 100KM and World Trophy Mountain championships: 1. American 100KM: top 3 men (sub-8 hour), top 3 women (sub-9 hour) 2. Mt. Washington: top 3 men, top 2 women 3.
