Many new faces from the national level road racing crowd including winner Peter De La Cerda (former USATF National half-marathon champion). It was a tough day for those of us from sea-level. The course climbs from 8200' to 10,400' above sea-level. With the exception of Paul Low, we all arrived in Vail on Friday - not enough time to properly adjust to running fast at high elevations. Eric, Dave and I were the only racers in the top 30 that were not living and training at high altitude. |
