From Suzanne Williams: In the absolute worst conditions for a cross country meet, the 2006 NEWMAC Championships were run at Mt. Holyoke College on Oct. 28th during a torrential downpour. 105 men took on the 8K course that the rain had turned into virtual streams and ponds. One athlete came through the first loop and was losing a shoe. He finished the race without either shoe. I assumed the mud just sucked them off of his feet! Congratulations to everyone who ran and took on the elements to finish this race.
