And how did the former local high school stars fare in the collegiate ranks?  Here's the top of the tops at the NCAAs.


First up is Joel Legare, formerly of Wachusett HS.  Here's Joel's final collegiate effort of 2004, 12th in the prelims of the 800 meters.  Jonathon Johnson went on to win the finals in 1:46.39.

Former Boston English high school star, Said Ahmed, who placed 22nd in the 2000 Massachusetts XC State Meet on the Grafton course, fared exceptionally well in the 1500, placing 5th in the finals.

The 5000 showcased several former New England area high school stars.  Louis Luchini, formerly from Maine, had a fun time chasing Andy Powell in the National HS Track 2 mile when it was held in Reggie Lewis arena.
