Second round in the invitational, with the usual performers, and a few new
ones. Tufts took the women's competition, with the World's greatest college, Smith,
placing 10th. Visit the Smith College bookstore in Northampton Mass, and
you will see a T-shirt celebrating Smith's 100 year anniversary. The T-shirt proclaimed: "Smith College:
100 years of women in exciting positions". Hey, would I make this
up?

Jason Caisse ( Narragansett 98 and U Mass Dartmouth 03 )
ran 10:39.81 for 17th in the 3000 meters.

Keith Kantor ( Murdock '01 and Fitchburg State 05 )
clocked 2:19.31 for 11th in the 800 meters. Keith also was 24th in the
shot with a toss of 7.20m or 23-07.50 feet.

Adam Lukowski ( Bartlett 00 and Tufts U 04 )
was 9th in the weight throw with a toss of 12.73m or 41-09.25 feet.
Adam then placed 16th in the shot with a heave of 11.22m or 36-09.75
feet.

Jeremy Nute ( Westboro 99 and U Mass Dartmouth 03 )
clocked 9:11.63 for 5th in the 3000 meters.

Dan Savukoski ( Fitchburhg 99 and Fitchburg State 03 ) ran
4:11.52 for 6th in the 1500 meters.

Matt Swett ( South 00 and Worcester State 04 ) had
another busy weekend, clocking 1:09.91 for 8th in the 500 meters.
Then clocked 8.41 in the 55 meter hurdles qualifier, followed by 8.28 for 7th in
the finals. Matt also sailed 11.20m or 36-09.00 in the triple jump.
And then, in a hurry to get to the team bus (he's the backup driver) he jumped
over a bar in his way, clearing 1.87m or 6-01.50 feet for a tie for 3rd in the
high jump.

Marissa Clapp ( Murdock 00 and Springfield 04 )
clocked 2:59.09 in the 1000 to finish 2nd by less than 2
seconds. Marissa then came back to win the 1500 with a time of
4:51.62 |
