Athletic powerhouse Rutgers University steamrolled the local colleges in the men's competition. collecting 163 points to easily outpace 2nd place U Mass Lowell with 98.  U Conn was 1st in the women's team competition, ahead of Rutgers in second.

Joseph  Foley, (Northeastern U 02 and St John's '98)  no-heighted in the High Jump, won by Mardin Stewart of Alabama at 6' 8".  

Doug Marcoux, (UNIV. OF MASS LOWELL  '04 and Leominster 2000) clocked  50.84 for 9th overall in the 400 meters. Teammate Mike Paige had the top time of 49.44.  

Jon Murphy (UNIV. OF MASS LOWELL and Worcester South '99) clocked 15:13.23 for first in the 5000 meters.  It was a sprint to the finish, as Seth Holland of Rutgers was right behind in 15:13.33.  

Tim Sacino, (UNIV. OF MASS LOWELL and Leominster '01) clocked 7.01 for 27th in the 55 meters, then 23.75 for 24th in the 200.  

Joe Sans (UNIV. OF MASS LOWELL senior and  Narragansett '98) ran 2:29.79 for second in the 1000, just behind Szabolcs Molnar's 2:29.66. 

Leighann Carpenter, (UNIV. OF NEW HAMPSHIRE and Wachusett HS '98) ran 1:19.24 for 7th overall in the 500 meters.  Rutgers' Erin Johnson topped the field in 1:14.47.  

Jill Croft (UNIV. OF MASS LOWELL senior and Gardner HS '98)  ran  7.27 in the 55 meter dash prelims, then accellerated to 7.23 for second in the finals, behind Ebony Jack of Northeastern in 7.07. Jill also placed 3rd in the 200, clicking 25.46.  All warmed up with nowhere else to be, Jill then placed 4th in the high jump, clearing 5'5".  Still ready to fly, Jill tied for 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 18' 7".  

University of Massachusetts AmherstAmanda Dahlberg (UNIV. OF MASS AMHERST and Gardner '01) ran 11:35.07 for 30th overall in the 3000 meters.  Julie Culley of Rutgers ran a nice 9:48.93 to run away from the field. 

Liz Gorecki, (UNIV. OF MASS LOWELL and Murdock HS '99) ran 2:30.77 for 21st in the 800 meters. 

Brandy Green, (UNIV. OF MASS AMHERST and Fitchburg HS '2000) ran  8.34 for 3rd in the 55 high hurdles prelims, then clocked 8.79 for 6th overall in the finals.  Opal Jones ran 7.92 for 1st.  Brandy then moved over to the pole vault and cleared 11'6" for 4th place. 

Tanya Latraverse, (UNIV. OF MASS LOWELL and Blackstone Millville '99) ran 5:34.43 for 23rd overall in the mile. 

Laura Smith, (BOSTON COLLEGE and Wachusett HS '99) ran 4:59.32 for second in the mile.  Teammate Katie Ryan was 1st in 4:51.  

Wesly Shaw, (NORTHEASTERN UNIVER and St. John's) cleared 15'00.00" 4.57m for 6th in the pole vault.  Ed Keefe led a Rutgers 1-2-3 sweep, clearing 16' 6".
