The ECACs seemed to be the sole province of former Wachusett High runners, as 4 showed up in the results.

Sheela Agrawal (Case HS and  Duke University) placed 2nd overall in the 5000 meters in  16:29.54, good for  8 points in the team scoring.  Sheela is a former Mass State HS mile champ, winning on a beautiful, sunny day out at Smith College  (could there be a better name for an all-Women's college?  Nah!).

Leighann Carpenter (Wachusett HS 2000 and UNH) ran the 3rd leg of  UNH's 6th place 2 mile relay (they call it the 4 x 800 meter relay, forcing us to calculate just how far that might be...gads!).  UNH clocked 9:04.62.

Brandy Green (Fitchburg HS 2000 and U Massachusetts) had a busy day, as is the custom for sprinters and jumpers.  Brandy clocked 8.97 in the 60 meter HH prelims, then ran  9.52 in the semis.   Brandy came back to place in a tie for 15th in the pole vault, clearing  11'03.75".

Katie Litwinowich (Wachusett HS 99 and U New Hampshire) cruised to a 2:51.24 in the 1000 prelims, then dropped to 2:48.82 for 3rd overall in the finals.  It was a sprint to the finish, as Elizabeth Rocks of Pitt won in 2:47.64.   Katie's  mark shattered the school record of 2:55.51, which was set earlier this season by senior Amy DeCamp (Londonderry, N.H.) in a home meet February 9.

Jennifer McCarthy (Wachusett HS '98 and  Colgate University)
ran 2:54.59  in the 1000 prelims.

Laura O'Neill (Milton HS 99 and Yale University) ran  16:37.34 for 4th overall in the 5000 meters.

Kate O'Neill (Milton HS 99 and Yale University) ran  9:33.38 for first in the 3000.  Kate won the 2nd section in a sprint, and just beat the section #1 time by less than one second.

Lara Niell (Bromfield HS 98 and Dartmouth College) ran  9:54.59 for 12th overall in the 3000 meters.

Erin Seymour (North Middlesex 98 and  Iona College)
clocked  17:47.74 for 14th in section 1 of the 5000 meters.

Laura Smith (Wachusett HS 99 and  Boston College) ran  4:55.36 for 4th in heat 1 of the mile.  Laura then dropped down to 4:54.94 good for 4th in the finals.
