Where did those Central Mass High Schoolers Go?  

MASCAC Championships

Nicole Esten (Uxbridge HS and Westfield State frosh)  placed 5th in the long jump, with a distance of 13' 10".   Kristin Neville of Bridgewater State topped the field with 15' 4.25".  Nikki also placed second in the 400 meters, clocking 1:02.84, just behind teammate Jess Silva.  Nikki also placed 3rd in the 200 meter dash, in a time of 28.03.  Kristin Neville took first in 26.94.  

Kristi Lin Popoff (Leicester HS and Westfield State frosh) placed 3rd in the 800 meters in 2:31.4.   Fitchburg's Rhalda Jansen was 1st in 2:29.9.  Kristi also placed 8th in the long jump, clearing 13' 0.25"  

Matt LeMaire (Northbridge HS and Westfield State frosh) placed 5th in the high jump with 5' 10".   Matt came back to win the 110 meter hurdles in 16.02.  Matt was also 5th in the 400 meters in 1:00.33.  

Jason Pappas (Fitchburg HS and Westfield State senior) placed 2nd in the 800 meters in 2:03.3.   Jason also ran away with the 3,000 meter steeplechase by over a minute, winning in 9:55.54.  Then, demonstrating true versatility, Jason tied for 5th in the pole vault, clearing 9' 6".  

Kevin Anderson (Shrewsbury HS and Fitchburg State junior) placed 5th in the 1500 meters in 4:47.5.   Kevin came back to score in the 5000 meters, clocking 18:46.72.  

Keto Sysong (Leominster HS and Fitchburg State junior) placed 5th in the 3000 meter steeplechase in 12:34.23.   Keto also placed 3rd in the 10K in 36:49.43

Ben Brideau (Fitchburg HS and Fitchburg State frosh) placed 3rd in the triple jump, soaring 38. 0.75"   Ben also placed 4th in the high jump, clearing 6 feet even.  Ben followed that with a 5th in the 110 meter hurdles, in 17.15,  then placed 8th in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:04.22.  

Russell Trottier (Northbridge HS and Bridgewater State soph) placed 1st in the 1500 meters in 4:22.3.   Russell also placed 4th in the 800 meters in 2:05.9

Mark Hewitt  (Milford HS and Bridgewater State soph) placed 3rd in the javelin with a toss of 154' 7".  Mark took first in the discus, with a distance of 127' 8".  

Christopher Starr (Leominster HS and Bridgewater State frosh) placed 3rd in the 5000 meters in 16:34.72.   

Matt Swett (South HS and Worcester State frosh) placed 2nd in the triple jump, with a distance of 38' 9.5".   Matt was 6th in the high jump, clearing 5' 10";  2nd in the 110 meter hurdles, in 16.15; and 6th in the 400 meter hurdles, in 1:01.74.
