Pappas (Westfield State, Fitchburg HS) moved up from his
customary half mile to place 3rd overall at the JEI with at time of
27:198. Jason was Westfield's 1st man as Westfield State took 4th
overall. Steve Money of Vassar (Steve? of Vassar?) was first
in 26:47.
Jeremy
Nute (U Mass Dartmouth and Westboro HS), was 13th overall,
2nd man for UMass Dartmouth, in 27:57. UMD was 2nd team overall.
Did you know that Jeremy was 25th in the 1997 Central Mass XC
championships. Hey, a little factoid to make your day.
Noah Hill (Wheaton and Narragansett HS),
was 18th overall in 28:26. Noah
was 2nd man for Wheaton. All right...you asked for it: Noah was 1995:
Central Mass XC Div 2, 9th in 16:23; 1995: State XC Division 2 51st in
16:15 as a sophomore, 1996: T&G All Star; 5th Central Mass Division 2 XC;
1997: Central Mass outdoor 5th in the Mile; 1997: Central Mass XC 3rd D2;
1997: State XC 15th. So there. All off the top of my head.

Not
sure about this one: I have Josh Hill,
Mass Maritime, placing 93rd in 32:14. I also have Joshua Hill at U
Mass Dartmouth. Eh?
Andy Clark (Mass Maritime and Doherty HS), was 102nd in 32:51. If this is the "real" Andy Clark, he finished 113th in the State XC in 1997. Ahhh...factoids.
Kristi
Lin Popoff (Westfield State Frosh and Leicester HS), was 44th in
the Women's race in 21:53. Kristi was 3rd man for Westfield.
Westfield State was 7th team, behind winner Coast Guard. Kristi was 13th
in the 2000 Central Mass HS Outdoor 800.
Amy Slabich (Union College and Wachusett HS)
was 21st in 20:51 for the 5K course. Amy was 2nd man for the 4th place
Union. OK: Amy placed sixth in the Central Mass 880 and ran on the 1st
place 2 mile relay team in 1997. Man, I'm good!
