Raleigh Relays, Raleigh, NC, March 31-April 1, 2000 

Caroline Banks, Wachusett HS and James Madison U,  ran the second leg of the 6000 meter relay.  JMU finished 11th in 20:17.50.  Splits were not available.  

Tim Curran, St Johns Shrewsbury and Providence College,  ran 14:42.46 in the 5,000 meters. 

5-way Meet, April 1, 2000: Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and U Mass, at Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH. 

Jeff Guenette, Fitchburg HS and Dartmouth, placed first in the 400 meter intermediate hurdles.  Jeff clocked 56.01. 

Kevin Horgan, Gardner HS and UNH, placed 9th in the 800 meters in 1:59.23 in the same quad meet.  Gabriel Rivard topped the field in 1:53.78.  

Kristen Frank, Wachusett HS and Vermont, placed 9th in the 200 meters in 28.58, behind Regan Coffey's 1st place 25.28.  Kristen them came back to place 5th in the 400 meters in 1:03.34.  Teammate Alanna Jones was first in 59.18. 

Katie Litwinowich, Wachusett HS and UNH, took 1st in the 800 in 2:18.54.  

Tufts Invitational, Somerville, MA, April 8, 2000.

Jill Croft, Gardner HS and U Mass Lowell took1st in the long jump, with 17' 9", then took 1st in the 100 meter dash in 12.93.   

Liz Gorecki, Murdock HS and U Mass Lowell  ran with the 4x400 meter relay team, third leg, to place first in 4:14.97. 

Triangular meet: Harvard, Brown, Dartmouth, April 8, 2000 at Dartmouth, Hanover NH. 

Lara Niell, Bromfield School and Dartmouth, took 2nd in the 3,000 meters in 10:02.87, just behind teammate (and former Mass State HS champ) Susan Ashlock in 10:02.75.   

Jeff Guennette, Fitchburg HS and Dartmouth,  placed third in the 400 meter intermediate hurdles, clocking 55.87.  Jake Kuritz of Brown led the field in 54.75.    

Duke Invitational, Durham, NH, April 7-8, 2000 

Mike Smith, Wachusett HS and JMU,   placed tenth in the 5000 meters in 14:26.42. 

Dave Raymond,  Wachusett HS and James Madison U,  placed 79th  in the 5000 in 15:43.78.    

Dual meet: Dartmouth, Boston College, April 15, 2000 at Dartmouth, Hanover NH. 

Lara Niell, Bromfield School and Dartmouth,   placed sixth in the 1500 meters in 4:38.54. All seven placers were from Dartmouth, topped by Cecily Garber in 4:27.67.  

Erin Dromgoole, Millbury HS and Dartmouth  placed seventh in the 1500, clocking 4:53.21.   

Jeff Guennette, Fitchburg HS and Dartmouth,  placed first in the 400 meter hurdles in 55.07. 

Wake Forest Invitational, Winston-Salem, NC, April 15, 2000 

Caroline Banks, Wachusett HS and James Madison U,  ran the second leg of the 1,500 meter relay.  JMU finished 4th in 4:20.32.  The JMU 'A' team placed 3rd in 4:14.27. Splits were not available.  Caroline then came back in the 800 meters to place sixth in 2:24.93.  

Brown Invitational, Brown U, Providence RI, APril 15, 2000 

Tim Curran, St Johns Shrewsbury and Providence College,  ran 4:05.22 in the 1500 meters.  Teammate Dermot Galvin topped the field in 3:55.31.  

Virginia Invitational, Charlottesville, VA, April 15, 2000. 

Mike Smith, Wachusett HS and JMU,   placed third in the 1500 meters in 3:52.01. Mike had already gone under the qualifier for the IC4As, clocking 3:51.37 at the Raleigh Relays on April 1.  Teammate Russ Coleman took 1st in 3:51.28.   

Dave Raymond,  Wachusett HS and James Madison U,  placed 12th  in the 1500 in 3:59.00    This improved on the 4:08.34 Dave ran in the Raleigh Relays on 4/1/00. 

Colonial AA Championships, Richmond, VA, April 21-22, 2000 

Mike Smith, Wachusett HS and James Madison U,  placed second in the 5000 in 14:31.83.  This qualified Mike for the IC4As 5K. 

Dave Raymond,  Wachusett HS and James Madison U,  placed ninth  in the 5000 in 15:07.98.  

Caroline Banks, Wachusett HS and James Madison U,  placed 23rd in the 800 meters in 2:28.68.  Teammate Keisha Banks placed 1st in 2:10.31. 

Husky Invitational, April 22, 2000,  Solomon Track, Dedham, MA. 

Lara Niell, Bromfield School and Dartmouth,   placed third in the 5000 in 17:24.08.  Kristen Manwaring topped the field in 17:19.33 

Jonathon Murphy, South HS and U Mass Lowell,   placed 19th in the  1500 meters in 4:16.67.  Jason Taylor of Dartmouth topped the feld in 3:58.22. The meet featured torrential downpours which soaked the competitors. 

Katie Litwinowich, Wachusett HS and UNH, took 4th in the 1500 in 4:53.65, behind Amy Rudolph (yes, the big-time Amy Rudolph) 1st place 4:27.41.  in 2:18.54.  

Wes Shaw, St. John's Shrewsbury and Northeastern, took 6th in the 110 Meter High hurdles in 16.68.  Majimu Gabisi topped the field in 15.37.   Wes then came back to top the field in the high jump, going 1.88 meters. 

Aloha Invitational, Bowdoin College, Brunswick, ME, April 22, 2000

Jill Croft, Gardner HS and U Mass Lowell took1st in the high jump, leaping 5' 2" (which is just about head-high), then took 1st in the long jump, sailing 16' 10".  All warmed up, Jill took 3rd in the 200 meters in 28.84. 

Liz Gorecki, Murdock HS and U Mass Lowell  placed  sixth in the 400 intermediate hurdles in 1:12.6

Penn Relays, 4/27-28, U Penn  

Jeff Guennette, Fitchburg HS and Dartmouth,  ran lead-off in the 4x400 meter relay at the Penn Relays.  Dartmouth placed 4th in 3:15.19 to take fourth in the Heps section. 

Mike Smith, Wachusett HS and James Madison U, placed 12th in the 10,000 meters in 29:52.24.  This qualifies Mike for the IC4As and provisionally qualifies for the NCAAs.  

Jill Croft, Gardner HS and U Mass Lowell joined the UML team to place eighth in the 4x200 meter relay.  Their 1:40.76 broke the UML school record by nearly 3 seconds.  Jill also ran on the 4x100 meter team which placed ninth overall in 48.36. This was the third fastest time among NCAA DIII teams and 35th among all 80 teams.  Jill also ran on the 4x400 team, finishing in 3:57.48.  

Drake Relays, 4/28, Des Moines, Iowa  

Jonathon Riley, Brookline HS and Stanford,   ran the third leg of the 4x1600 meter relay.  Stanford's 16:21.58  placed second behind Northern Iowa by .05.   

Andy Powell, Oliver Ames HS and Stanford,  ran leadoff in  the 4x1600 meter relay.  No splits were available. Andy appears fully recovered from his early XC season injury. Isn't it amazing how high schoolers are bullet-proof, until they get to the college ranks.  I wonder why this is so. 

Dartmouth Invitational, April 30, Hanover, NH  

Liz Gorecki, Murdock HS and U Mass Lowell  placed sixth in the finals of the  400 intermediate hurdles, clocking 72.07.  Elizabeth Moore of UNH placed first in 66.88. 

Erin Dromgoole, Millbury HS and Dartmouth  placed first in the 5,000 meters, running 17:26.18, just .01 ahead of Kristin Manwaring.  

Kristen Frank, Wachusett HS and Vermont, placed second in the 400 meters, in 61.35, behind UNH's Heidi Flanders' 61.06.  

Jeff Guennette, Fitchburg HS and Dartmouth,  took 1st in his specialty, the 400 meter hurdles, clocking 56.17.  

Jonathon Murphy, Worcester South HS and U Mass Lowell,  took 1st in the 5000 meters, in 16:01.84.
