2000 Indoor NCAA Division II  National Championships Reggie Lewis Arena, Boston, MA, Saturday, March 11,  2000

Jill Croft, Gardner HS 98 and U Mass Lowell, ran 7.09 in the prelims of the 55 Meter dash.  Unfortunately, Jill false-started in the finals.  Teammate Erika Rice placed 4th in the finals at 7.10  Jill then came back to long jump 18' 10" for 5th place.  Nikita Lewis of Slippery Rock bounded 20' 5" for 1st.

Sean Murphy, St John's 96 and U Mass Amherst, ran 4:18.24 in the mile prelims, placing 7th in his heat.

Kevin Horgan, Oakmont HS 96 and University of New Hampshire, ran 4:15.84 in the mile prelims, placing 5th in his heat.  To qualify for the finals, won by Jason Gibbons of Columbia in 4:06.56, runners needed to place in the top 2 of their heat, or run the next best 4 times, which equated to 4:13.

Lara Niell, Bromfield School and Dartmouth, ran 9:50.18  for the 3000 meters. 

Jeff Guennette, Fitchburg HS 99 and Dartmouth,  ran leadoff for the Dartmouth mile relay team, which clocked 3:19.34 in the trials. 

Wesley Shaw, St John's HS and Northeastern,  no-heighted in the pole vault.  15' 9" was the required height to move on.

David Raymond, Wachusett 99 and James Madison,  ran the leadoff leg for the JMU distance medley relay team, which placed 24th in 10:24.29.

2000 Indoor ECAC Division II  Championships Commonwealth Armory, Boston MA, March 4, 2000

Jill Croft, Gardner HS 98 and U Mass Lowell, ran 7.10 in the prelim round of the 55 meter dash, then ran 7.10 again in the finals for 2nd place as part of a U Mass Lowell 1-2-3 sweep. Jill then came back to top the field in the high jump, going 5' 5.25" and winning on misses. Then, all warmed up and waiting for the bus back to campus, Jill topped the long jump field with a distance of 18' 7"

Jennifer Pirie, Northbridge HS, and Stonehill College, ran 7.63 in the 55 prelims, for the 11th best time. Jennifer then came back to place 17th in the 55 meter High hurdles in 9.24. 

Elizabeth Gorecki, Murdock HS '99 and U Mass Lowell, ran 1:27.17 for  13th place in the 500 meter dash.

Kristy Pappas, Fitchburg HS 96 and U Mass Lowell, ran 11:00.42 in the 3,000 meters for  10th place. 

Jonathon Murphy, Worcester South HS  and U Mass Lowell,  ran 9:10 for 14th place in the 3000 meters. 

Joe Sans, Narragansett HS and U Mass Lowell,   ran 9:32.57  for 26th place in the 3000 meters. 

2000 Indoor ECAC Division III  Championships Wheaton College, Norton MA,  March 4, 2000

Colleen Burch, Leicester HS 98 and Wheaton College,   ran 7.30 in the 55 meter dash prelims,  then ran 7.28 in the semifinals, then 7.26 in the finals to place 3rd. 

Patrick Gemme, St John's Prep '99 and Worcester State,    ran 4:19.15 for 22nd place in the 1500 meters. 

Michael Wyman, David Prouty HS 99 and Worcester State,   placed second in the long jump with a distance of  22' 4.25".   

2000 Indoor NCAA DI  Championships, Fayetteville Arkansas, March 11, 2000.

Jonathon Riley, Brookline HS and Stanford,   ran the anchor leg of the distance medley relay.  Stanford's 9:28.83 beat the American, NCAA Meet, and stadium records.  

Sheela Agrawal, Case HS and Duke University,   ran 4:49.38 in the prelims of the mile run, placing seventh in her heat.  Sheela needed 4:47.65 to qualify for the finals.
