U Mass Lowell

Both the men's and women's cross country teams finished in second place at St. Anselm. Freshman Nathaniel Jenkins (Narragansett HS, Templeton, MA) finished second overall with a time of 26.33. Kevin Alliette (Methuen, MA) finished fifth and Jayson Lavalley (Amesbury, MA) finished in sixth place. 

The women were equally successful with a second place finish as well. Senior(?) Kristy Pappas (Fitchburg, MA) finished fourth with a time of 19:51. Jamie Gleason (St. Bernard's, Baldwinville, MA) finished eighth, and Sue Kane (Newburyport, MA) finished in 12th place. It was a great start to the season for both the men's and women's teams

University of New Hampshire

BLOOMINGTON, IND-- The University of New Hampshire women's cross country team raced to a 13th place finish at the Sam Bell invitational held at the University of Indiana on September 25. The meet, which featured nearly 200 runners from 23 schools, was won by the University of Arkansas.

Junior Amy Decamp (Londonderry, N.H.) set the pace for the Wildcats, finishing the 5,000 meter course in 18 minutes and 25.2 seconds. That time placed her 17th, 1:28.3 seconds off the leader (17:06.9).Seniors Kristy Falcon (Shelburne Falls, MA) and Kelly Feibel (Londonderry, N.H.) also ran well finishing in 19:41.1 and 19:54.6, respectively.

UNH runners finishing in the middle of the pack were; Suzanne Biron (Marlborough, N.H.) 20:03, Mackenzie Sheridan (Kingston, Ontario) 20:14.1, Jaime Falcon (Shelburne Falls, MA) 20:25, Katie Litinowich (Holden, MA, Wachusett HS) 20:37.9, and Taryn Kenney (North Attleboro, MA) 20:41.4.

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's cross country team took top honors in Saturday's (September 25) five team meet at Central Connecticut.

The Wildcats won the meet with a score of 15 points, followed by Maine (62), Vermont (88), Central Connecticut (99) and Holy Cross (108)

UNH took the top-five overall spots with Kevin Horgan (Gardner HS & Ashburnham, Mass) finishing first overall in a time of 26 minutes, 11 seconds. Dan Hocking (Merrimack , N.H.) was second in 26:19.9, followed by Matt Schadow (Minnetonka, Minn.) 26:26.5 , Tim Wright (Londonderry, N.H.) 26:26.7 and Ryan Raymond (Loudin, N.H.) 26:34.8.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Providence College men's cross country team scored 206 points and finished sixth of 28 schools at the Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn., on Saturday, September 25.

Providence was led by senior Keith Kelly (Drogheda, Ireland) who finished fourth in a time of 24:29. Also scoring for the Friars were Dermot Galvin of Kilrush, Ireland (22nd - 25:07), Paul Reilly of Loughrea, Ireland (34th - 25:21), Tim Curran of Northboro, Mass & St John's Prep (58th - 25:43) and Adam Sutton of Preston, England (88th - 26:04).
