Jill Croft, U Mass Lowell and Gardner HS, placed first in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet even (5.5 meters). Jill also placed first in the high jump, topping out at 5' 6". Observers observed that this was about 6" over Jill's head. Then, just to round things out, Jill took the 55 Meter High Hurdles in 8.70 seconds, after running 8.60 in the prelim round..
Kristy Pappas, also of U Mass Lowell, and Fitchburg HS, placed second in the 1500 meters, in 5:01.3. in the December 11 meet.
Patrick Gemme, Worcester State College and St John's Prep '99, placed sixth in the 1500 in 4:19.25
Andy Gallivan, Worcester State and Doherty HS '99, followed Patrick in the 1500 in tenth place with 4:26.33. We saw Andy in several of the CMS weekly 5Ks this past summer.
Bill Hodgerney, Worcester State and David Prouty HS, placed 20th in 4:41.85. Here's a factoid: Bill placed sixth in the Central Mass outdoor 2 mile in 1997. Glory days!
Liz Gorecki, U Mass Lowell and Murdock HS, placed fourth in the 400 Meter run in 1:02.44
Emily Johnson, Tufts University and Quabog 98, placed second in the 600 meter run in 1:46.69
Tanya Latraverse, U Mass Lowell and Blackstone-Millville Regional, placed fourth in the 1,000 in 3:20.6.
