Heptagonal Championships & New England Division III Championships

Lara Niell (Bromfield School '98 and Dartmouth Frosh) placed sixth in the 3,000 meters in the Heptagonal Championships held May 1 at Columbia's Baker Field, New York City.  Lara clocked 9:56.44 in the very fast second heat.  Senior teammate Anne Devlin took first in 9:41.66.

Former Massachusetts state outdoor 2 mile champ, Susan Ashlock of Andover and Dartmouth Junior, placed eighth in 10:08.82.

John Krol, (Western Mass and U Penn Junior) placed seventeenth in the 10,000 at the Heps. John clocked 32:35.84.  Chris Banks of Princeton rolled in first in 30:20.54.

Karin Rood (Shrewsbury High '97 and Springfield College Sophomore) placed sixth in the shot put in the New England Division III Collegiate Championships held Saturday, May 1, 1999  at Blake Field, Springfield College, Springfield, Mass. Karin tossed the iron pill 40' 1/2".  Amanda Salb of Mount Holyoke took first with 44' 11 3/4".

Karin was also honored by being named to the  Division III All-New England Team for Indoor Track and the Division III All-ECAC Team.

Wheaton College

Colleen Burch (Leicester High '98 and Wheaton College Frosh) placed fourth in the 100 meter dash in 12.70 at the New England Division III Collegiate Championships. Colleen finished just behind Jacqueline James of Coast Guard who clocked 12.47.  

Colleen then came back to place fourth in the 200 meters with 26.35.   Deshawanda Williams, her Wheaton teammate, took first in 24.71.
