Only 11 folks took advantage of a lovely fall day and the return of the 52 Week x 5K Series to the Worcester State College course. Our President was in the running!
You want a story? I'll give you a story. It appears that Team Worcester dominated in this weekly 5K. TW was bolstered by two exceptionally young runners: either they are zero years old or 19. Can't tell from here. But then, many parents tell me that it is impossible to tell an infant from a teenager. Hey, what do I know?
Actually Team Lemerise took the title, with one runner and two volunteers. One volunteer is worth ten runners, so TL takes the weekly bragging rights.
Lisa Mentzer , who actually is 19, crushed the women's field. Oops, Lisa was the only woman runner. Well, Lisa would have won anyway. Rich Lemerise, running without his Presidential escort, bodyguards, and Secret Service agents, finished a nice tidy 5K.
This week the series moved to its Winter home at Worcester State College.
