The CMS powers-that-be forgot to bring a random draw prize. No problem. A ten dollar bill was pulled from the evening's entry fees and given as the random draw prize. The winner was Allen Hoffman of Sterling, a CMS member since the mid-1970's.
Fortunately for Allen, Dave Dunham, IRS agent and fast CMS runner, was not present. Otherwise, David would have been compelled, in his role as an IRS agent, to take some of the $10 as income tax. This would have been just enough to cover the deficit on the Big Dig. As it stands now, there will be a $2.78 deficit on the Big Dig. Just about the size of a little-bitty pothole. So, next time you hit that little pothole on the soon-to-be-completed Big Dig, remember Allen. Eh?
