Tonight's random draw prize was a pair of Reebok Lycra tights. To insure that the winner, who turned out to be first-place finisher Phil Loiselle, would get the right size, six different sizes ranging from extra small to double extra large were made available. (We know that you really were hoping to read something more interesting than this, but unless the resident Web master, Barry Smith, can add a fabrication or two to the account, this is the best we can do.)
HA! A challenge! Barry, having been rejected by both the Dark Side and the Light Side, has turned to the ultimate Side...the Web. Hereby is the response.
Apparently, Phil was still thinking about running so well for MIT. In his distracted state, he tried each of the lycra tights. Nothing fit just right. So, he decided to fabricate his own concoction. After all, those MIT guys can park police cars on the MIT dome, so they can do anything. Phil, using lessons learned from Professor MacGyver, quickly combined a Polar beverage, a rubber sole from Reebok, and a salavged part from Toy Town... (like the way I worked in our sponsors?) into a new, totally buoyant fabric which he promptly named Phil-up. The neat thing is that the fabric not only made it possible to float on water, but it also made you cut through normal atmosphere very quickly. You ran faster! Much faster!! Phil quickly ran to the patent office. Millions of dollars danced in his head. Fame, fortune, the CMS Web site. Unfortunately, the fizz from the Polar beverage fizzed out...the fabric disintegrated. The patent office was closed.
Oh well.
