barryOver the ten-plus year history of the CMS 52-Week 5K Series races, only once has a race been cancelled. That was the result of an in-progress blizzard. While today's race was run under clear skies, it probably should have been cancelled. For the first time ever, the course was 100% ice covered.
Several of those who came to race decided on to go out on a separate training run instead. Those who slid their way to the starting line were given the option of using the race strictly as a training run and not having their finishing times recorded. Several so opted.
