| 1998 CMS 5K Series Race #4 |
Held near the end of a snow-turned-to-freezing-rain-turned-to-rain storm, it appeared, with just five minutes to go before the scheduled 9:00AM start, that the race would tie an all-time record low for entrants - six. (This happened several years ago when the race was held during a blizzard.) However, two last minute entrants raised the total to eight.
Of the eight who battled the ice and slush covering much of the course, all were age 40+.
