Lancaster, MA, July 1, 1998

Heavy rain swept through the area just prior to the race. However, as the runners made their way to the puddle-covered starting line, the sun made what has become one of its infrequent appearances. 

The scene was beautiful.  The flowers immediately bloomed in full glory.   One rose stood out.  It grew to enormous proportions.  Then, it turned on the runners, gobbling up two sub-20 minute hoofers  who strayed too close, before turning on the tires of a Subaru Outback.  The results below have been adjusted for the two missing runners. Gulp!

In a special appearance, Web Guy #2, Marc Pilon, rolled easily to an eighth place finish.  This is very impressive, especially since Marc was busily HTML'ing, FTPing, and generally pasting up during his run.  And he did not drop one byte.
