If you ran the CHIPs Challenge 5K this past weekend and you came away depressed about your time, consider the following. Long-time CMS member Jim Daley of New Ipswich, NH, an age 60+ runner, said he ran CHIPs as fast as he possibly could. The result? A time of 19:10. "I had nothing left when I crossed the finish line," said Jim.
Running four days later, at the first of the CMS 52-Week 5K Series races this year to be run on a Wednesday, Jim used the race as a "comfortable workout" after having run the full course prior to the race. The result? A time of 19:08.
