The race featured no entry fee to both CMS and non-CMS runners. Once the race had ended, runners were treated to a post-race supper which included barbecue chicken, rice, salad, cornbread, yogurt, fruit and Polar beverages. The supper was followed by a random draw of prizes including seven pair of Reebok running shoes, Reebok travel bags and t-shirts, Worcester Ice Cats tickets and t-shirts, CMS running gear, gift certificates, and assorted other prizes.
Is this how to run a company? The race was run on a Wednesday evening. Those who won the Reebok running shoes filled out shoe certificates which were collected by a Reebok representative who was in attendance. Several of the winners reported that they received the shoes via Federal Express two days later, less than 48 hours after the race!
