1997 CMS 5K Series Race #10

Worcester, MA - March 8, 1997

On the Friday before Stu's 30K in 1996, weather forecasters from each of the three Boston VHF television stations were predicting one to three inches of snow for Saturday and clear weather for Stu's. As many will remember, the one to three inches became seven inches and Stu's was subsequently run during blizzard-like squalls.

As this is being written, @1:00PM on Saturday, the day before this year's Stu's, weather forecasters from the three Boston stations once again predicted one to three inches of Saturday snow. As it did a year ago, the snow began to fall just before the start of the Saturday morning CMS 52-Week 5K Series race and continues to fall. With about a half inch of snow presently on the ground, the questions becomes, in the reputed words of one of America's great philosophers, Yogi Berra, is it "deja vu all over again?"
