I feel this cannot wait until the next newsletter to express my dismay. People are having WAY too much fun out at these weekly 5k's. Just ask ultra serious runner, Mr. Goolsky, he'll tell yah! Hmm, I wonder if Jack has ever been accused of being serious before, or me for that matter! As I was saying though, there should be more gut busting, leg burning, stomach turning going on out there!! We need runners prostrated at the finish line paying homage to the porcelain throne; if there happened to be one out there and who knows, this is the city and you can find most anything out on the side of the roads here! Anyway, let it be known that as in Whoville, there will no longer be any joy out at these 5k's! Yah right!! You try telling that to these people! Slow, fast, half fast; fun is why we're out there! |

Brad Fors was first across the line in the "Fun in small doses, 18 minutes or less" group while perennial nice guy and always fun to be around, Charlie Salmond, who also likes to limit his racing enjoyment to the 20 minutes and less range, let newcomer and visiting GSH runner Celio Hernandez take top honors in the Seniors division. Mike Auger, who doesn't need to list a home town to have fun was first for the Masters. And in an ever festive battle for the top woman, it all came down to the final stretch where Open category winner Shanna Hauver pulled away from Carol Hurley (First Senior) and Alice McKeon (First Master). In the fun with names category, Brian Breeden won the battle of the Brians while young Ms Hauver was first for the Sydneys. Team Cruz came out and demonstrated that it's most fun when you can share with the rest of the family although it can be argued that Aimee and Mike have also been having fun each week to see who will be first Villemaire across the line. |
