Let's play On This Day In History again. Who can tell me what happend on this day back in 1966? Well, if you were at today's race when everyone started singing Happy Birthday, you might be able to guess! I'll leave you with the hint that his name is listed below or should I say, his alias is listed below. That way, we won't get him all embarrassed any more than we did at the race! Ok, in our 6th edition of the 2008 weekly 5k, Brad Fors was first for the men and Karen Berni-Giarusso led all women, although Pat Clark was not far behind. Dave Birse, one of our NH CMS'ers, known for his unique races up in the Granite State, and never for loss of words in his race recaps, squeezed under the 20 minute barrier this week. Also of note, our two newest CMS members who signed up for the club just
before the race knocked off some sizeable time from their previous course PR's.
Two weeks ago, Candy Sutherland ran her first race evah and this week, fresh with
the CMS suffix to add to her name, knocked almost 3 minutes off of her time.
Not to be outdone, Lois Horton followed up last week's race by knocking off almost
ELEVEN minutes from her previous best! Now there's a testament to the benefits of
club membership! |
