CMS 52-Week 5K Series Race #51

Worcester State College
Worcester, MA
December 22, 2007
Kevin Fallon

T Minus 3 Days before Christmas and the runners are still coming out to the Saturday morning 5K! They must all have their shopping done! Well, everyone except the 20-39 Men, and 00-19 Kids as those categories were noticeably absent today. Times were generally slowed due to the snow along the edges of the road and on June Street Terr and Marcy but Charlie "Can't say a bad thing about him" Salmond continued his sub 20 minute streak with a little liberty from the time keepers/recorders. Charlie was also top CMS finisher on the day.

On the women's side, Roxanne Robert took first place and I'm told it was her first age group and category win ever! Nice running! And husband Tom, taking a week off from volunteering and cheering, ran his first WSC 5k.

Just a heads up: In one week, on December 29th, we will have our 52nd and final 5k race of 2007 at Worcester State. The Lobby will not be open though, as the students will be away for the holiday and the school is closed. We will need to run the race out of the back of our cars. As such, this will be a minimalistic approach, without a lot of the food/etc. Please plan accordingly. The 2008 Series will start the following Saturday and we will be back inside where it's warm!
