CMS 52-Week 5K Series Race #47

Kevin Fallon

Our second person across the finish line of today's race is notable for the fact that he doesn't show up in the results, didn't stop to take a popsicle stick, crushed one of our cones, and dragged another out of sight. My guess is the bright orange traffic cone was not obvious enough! Yours truly is glad that he wasn't standing out in the street at the time and that all of our runners made it back safe. Upon a quick glance, it looked like an elderly driver as opposed to someone who purposely ran down the cones. So everyone, BE CAREFUL out there!

Over to the results, it's another week of CMS clearly dominating the age categories! Starting with Dan as the first Male Open, and then on to Bryan Quitadamo (First Junior), Charlie Salmond (First Senior), Eric Steadman (First Master), Carol "hasn't lost a Saturday morning race yet" Hurley (First Senior), Karen Berni-Giarusso (First Master), Kim McCarthy (First Open), Ray Boutotte (First Veteran) and Sydney Cruz (First Junior); every one of them was sporting the CMS letters after their names! Of course, this doesn't count the aforementioned errant driver, but then again, we're not sure what category he'd be in.

Final note here, thanks to newcomer volunteer Tom Robert who was here to cheer on his wife but answered the call to run our backup timer. Thanks Tom!
