The first race of the year for the "Summer" Series at Devens!

CMS president Kevin Fallon carefully marked the course: white dots at every quarter-mile; white arrows at all the turns.... And then Mother Nature put her own white stuff on the course, in the form of snow and sleet. Ah well, Summer in New England, what else wouldja expect.

The overall winners of the 5K race were Kevin McCusker (19:27) and Charlie Salmond (20:29), each a longtime competitor of the 5K Series even on the days when it's sunny and warm.

Other winners:

• Joe Lavelle helped pace the first dog, Bailey.
• Peter Orni was tops in the veteran's division.
• Bob Pacetti was first among those who finished second.
• ... and in the women's race, Sarah Fullen threw down the gauntlet, and came up a winner!

Come join the fun, Wednesday evenings at Devens (through the end of September). Next Wednesday's race begins 6:00 pm.
