There were several exciting match-ups at this week's Worcester State 5K:

• Adam Parslow (18:49) beat the defending champ Barry Lorion by a narrow margin: only one second separated 1st and 2nd place!
  
  
• Suzanne Williams and Karen Berni-Giarusso (23:19) had a good fight for the women's title -- the newcomer from Rutland won by just three seconds.
  
  
• And would you believe, a presidential race? There were at least 4 CMS presidents in attendance at the 5K race, with Eric Thibaud (19:33) outpacing Joanne Lachapelle and Rich Lemerise. Eric also outran Kevin Fallon, who was standing still while working the finish line.
